Marianne Hurum HAiKed with us for the first time during the making of the SS13 season. She made a T-shirt titled Easy Easel – Cliffs of Dover. Her references included British TV water color tutorials, TV shop ads for a travel easel for painting on the go and general touristic collectibles like photos of views and postcards sent home.

Hurum designed the exhibition architecture/ sculpture in use, referencing everyday sculpture like plant scaffolding, espaliers, racks and mounts.

About: Marianne Hurum (b. 1978, Oslo) is educated at Malmø Art Academy (MA), UIC Chicago and The National Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo. Hurum is a painter whose work also includes sculpture and photogram. Hurum's canvas is a spiritual arena, a place for visual poetry and wit and a snap shot of the "now". It is a place of possibilities connecting to the history of painting and to the contemporary materials, objects and shapes the work rubs up against. Her work has qualities of both bluntness and mystique. Recent and upcoming exhibitions include Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art (Oslo), Nordic Contemporary (Paris), Elephant (Lillehammer), Lothringer 13_Laden (Munich), Stavanger Art Museum and Kunsthall Oslo.
